WELSH TINPLATE BOOM.

The Welsh tinplate trade is booming, and many makers are well booked up into the second quarter of this year. The most gratifying feature is the increased trade with Canada and America, and Welsh makers are abl© to compete successfully with Americans in their o*vn home markets. Notwithstanding American tariffs, the steamer Astronomer left Swansea recently with 30C0 tons of tinplates for Vancouver. Large shipments are also taking place to the Far Eastern markets, where tho demands are largely increasing.
