Mr. V. J. Coney, who has-been foreign mail clerk in the Chief Post Office in Auckland for a number of years, and has retired on superannuation, was yesterday presented by the staff with ; a Morris chair, a case of pipes, and a gold-mounted fountain pen. •, Mr. R. ;D. Kelly, chief postmaster, made the presentation, ... . Captains C. M. Renaut and F. A. Hardy, surveyors of ships at Auckland, and who have been transferred to Lyttelton • and Dunedin respectively, were yesterday presented .by the local office staff of the Marine Department with a travelling rug each.
