The appointment of a successor to the Public Service Commissioner recently retired has not yet been made, and will not be finally decided until after the present political turmoil. Mr. P. Verschafelt, the present acting commissioner, will continue meanwhile, in that capacity. Several other appointments in the higher grades of the service have, states the Prime Minister, been similarly deferred for final consideration. .
