POWER OF PERSONALITY.
"What we call personality, the greatest power in the universe, is made up of qualities that have been drawn out by conflictfighting evils outside and inside. If life was not a perpetual challenge, we should soon all lapse into the feeble and listless state of the half-witted that claim our commiseration. We should be proud to be energetic and ready for all emergencies. We can justly claim it as the triumph of our civilisation, without the risk of being priggish. Throw yourself heart and soul into things, and you cannot fail to obtain the mastery. If you can't do more, you can at least make up your mind to do something better than it was ever done before Striving against misfortune is invigorating. We have an extraordinary fund of reserve energy that we hardly ever draw upon. The psychologists tell us that we use only a fraction of our physical and mental power. Don't be afraid of work. If you are interested in your career, you will halve the labour. Cultivate the heart to do the small things, and you will find the courage to face the big ones when they come along. Cut the word " can't" out of your vocabulary. There is always something to be done to the good, whatever the state of affairs may lie. Find out what it is, and do it.
