UNSUCCESSFUL PHOTOGRAPHS. A, and N.Z. SYDNEY, March 20. Professor W. E. Cooke, New South Wales Government Astronomer, > explained that the results of the eclipse observations at Goondiwindi are such that it is impossible accurately to prove or disprove the validity of Einstein's theory of the bending of light, -which may remain untested pending the final results of the Wallal observations by members of the Lick Observatory staff, probably seven years hem*. Professor Cooke explained that, his party was not successful in obtaining satisfactory photographs of the position of stars in the vicinity of the sun during the eclipse owing to the unsuitiibility of the instruments with which the party -was equipped. ___________
