BUTTER- FAT PAYMENTS.
[BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] WAIMAUKU. Thursday. Very pleasing to the suppliers is this month's report of the Waiteraata Co-op. Dairy Coy., Ltd. The report shows that butter from its factory represented an increase of 44 per cent, over the corresponding period of last season. The company's London agents report that Waitemata butter has been commanding very good prices for shipments, which have recently been sold. The consignment by the Matakana realised a.i average of 210 a per cwt. The cheques for February butter-fat total approximately £5000, which sum has been distributed over a large and scattered district, stretching from Kaukapakapa to Glen Eden. _ The directors decided at the meeting to include in the cheques for the March supply an additional payment, in respect of October and November, which mill make the payments for the period from September to February up to Is 4d per lb. for butter-fat. The company's butter-fat competitions, so far, have not drawn many entries, but possibly before the closing date, March 31st, others may come forward to compete in the various classes arranged to suit herds of al] sizes.
