iA. and N.Z. * LONDON. March 19. A decree nisi was granted the Hon. John Hugo Russell, heir to Lord Ampthill, on the ground of his wife's adultery with an unknown man. This does not i decide the question of the succession to l the Ampthi.ll title. The verdict means j that the child is not Russell's, hut furj ther proceedings are necessary formally !to declare the child's legal status. An ! appeal has been lodged on behalf of Mrs. I Russell. The costs of 'the two trials ap- ; proximately total £25,000.
