Business -was quiet again yesterday on the Auckland sharemarket. In Government securities Inscribed Stock, 1938, changed hands at £97 2s 6d and £97 ss, with further sellers at the latter figure and no late buyers. War Loans, 1941, had inquiry at £96 10s, and the 1927 issue at £97 12s 6d. Others were wanted at £97, but there were no sellers. Inscribed Stock, 1927, was looked for at £97 10s. Soldiers' Loan bonds were wanted at £100, sellers £101 53. Inscribed stock in the same loan (5£ per cent) was offered at £100 15s and (5£ per cent) at £97 10s. In banks Commercials (pref.) were sought at £6 17s 6d, no sellers responding. Nationals wero on offer at £6 10s. New Zealands sold at 575, with further sellers at that price, buyers 56s 9d. Business was done in Unions of Australia at £14 Os 6d, sellers closing at £14 3s, buyers at £13 18s. In insurances Nationals were wanted at 745, no sellers quoting. New Zealands at 28s 9d wero sought at 28s 6d. South British were wanted at 37s 3d sellers 37s 9d. For Standards 33s 9d was offered. In timbers Kauris were done at 27s 9d, and in gas Aucklands (paid up) changed hands at 25s 9d. There were no transactions in miscellaneous lines. In mining Moanataiaris sold at 3s 7d, more being offered at that price, with late buyers at 3s 6d. Waihis at 28s 6d were looked for at 28s 3d. Grand Junctions had buyers at 8s 6d, sellers 8s 9d.
