MOTOR - CYCLING.

CONDITION OF WHITEHEAD.

Steve Whitehead, who was injured at the Hawera motor-cycle race meeting, and was removed to hospital in an unconscious condition, has regained consciousness, and is progressing favourably. Owing to an injury to his tongue he is inable to speak. Percy Coleman, in a lettor, states thct no one was close at the time of the accident, which occurred on a bad corner where all riders were running wide. He says that either something must have gene wrong with Whitehead's machine or he was unable to hold the speed on the corner, and thus hit the outside fence.
