Public notice is hereby given that at a Special Meeting of the Auckland City CounsmTTT?J& n A e 4 f ?, r %, Panose and held on THURSDAY, the Bth day of March, 1923.. the following Resolution was passed, and will be submitted for confirmation at the Ordinary Meeting of the , Council to be held on THURSDAY, .the sth day of April, at 7 o clock p.m., in the Council Chamber, Town Hall, Queen Street. Auckland, viz. :— "That the Auckland City Council doth hereby by Special Resolution inV tended to operate as a Special Order make the following By-law to be known as By-law No. 31 of the City of Auckland." BY-LAW No. 31. 1. This By-law shall be read with and as extending and amending By-law No 1 of the City of Auckland, made on the 19th day of April. 1917, and words herein used shall have the same meaning and be interpreted in the same way as the same words when used in the said By-law No. 1. IN RESPECT OF UNATTENDED VEHICLES. 2. By-law No. 13 subclause (b) of Section 6 of the Auckland City Council is hereby repealed, and in lieu thereof the following is enacted:— 8. (b) No person shall leave any vehicle unattended between the hours of 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. of any day for more than 15 minutes at any one time in any of the following streets or places in the City of Auckland. Customs Street East, from Queen Street to Gore Street. Customs Street West, from Queen Street to Albert Street. Federal Street. Fort Street Karangahapo Road. Khyber Pass Road. New North Road, from Mount Eden Road to Dominion Road. Ponsonby Road. Queen Street. Shortland Street, from Queen Street to • O'Connell Street. Symonds Street, from Mount Eden Road to Bast Street. No person shall use or cause or allow to be used for advertising or similar purposes in or about the streets or public places of the City any means or device which is or is to be carried or borne about in the public view whether by persons, animals, vehicles, machines or otherwise and no person shall carry or bear any such means or device or ride or drive any animal, vehicle or machine with or bearing the same In any street or publio place in the City provided always that— (a) This By-law shall not prevent any person from displaying his name and the nature and location of his business or residence on any vehicle or machine for the time being in his possession and used at the time for ordinary commercial carrying purposes in connection with that business. (b) This By-law shall not apply to persons, animals, vehicles or machines in any ryocession or similar display for which the special permission of the Council shall have been obtained. J. S.
