LICENSING ELECTIONS.
POLLING IN THE CITY. TO-DAY'S ARRANGEMENTS. The election of members for the City V Licensing Committee will be held to-day. For the five vacancies ten candidates hsTs i been nominated, representing two full % tickets. -The New Zealand Alliance haa nominated Mrs. Lee Cowie, the Rev. Percy Knight, Messrs, M. J. Bennett, 0. Mcßrine, and T. P. Vivian, while the "Liberty"' ticket comprises Messrs. J.'.,'>«; Grace, °G. H. Lethaby, E. Leydon, A. ,'-A Thompson, and J. Trevethick. • " All those whose names appear on the,: Parliamentary rolls for Auckland City, , . Auckland: East, and Auckland West m f entitled to vote. The polling hours are. from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., while there are 11 polling places. All hotel bars are required by law to close from noon. • ~ Licensing elections will also be held today in the following districts in the Auck- i land' province:-—Marsden, Kaipara, Taaranga, Waitomo and Rotorua.
