MINING NEWS.

MOANATAIARI. The main crosscut behind the slide in the Caledonian-Kuranui-Moanataiari minei, Thames, is now in 631 ft. The manager reports that during last week two leaders were parsed through, one 4in. wide and the other 6in. In the present (ace there is a change to nice blue country interlaced with quartz stringers and mineral veins. The drive on the reef hillwarda (thft last one cut in the crosscut) was advanced a further sft. The lode has widened to 6ft. It is very hard and fairly well mineralised.
