[Br TELEGRAPH.OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TAUBANGA, Monday. The Tauranga Gun Club held a shoot on Thursday for a trophy, a gun valued at £20. , Eleven competed, J. Tanner proving the winner. The scores were as follows:—C. Heard, 10 birds E. Chadban, 11 W. Tanner, 8; G. Henderson, 10; W. Simmons, 13; J. Tanner, 15; A. E. Newsham, 10; W. O'Halloran, 12; R. Renshaw. 10; B. O'Neill, 12; J. Wintle, 11. W. Tanner, G. Henderson, and W. Semmens shot off for a sweepstake given as second money, which was divided between Semmens and W. Tanner, with 13 birds each. Easter will see the first deep-water cruipe of the Tauranga Yacht and Powerboat Club's squadron. Yachts and launches will leave Tauranga Harbour on the Thursday night before Easter for Mercury Bay. They will meet at the entrance to Mercury Bay harbour on Good Friday and sail for the town at 3 p.m. under the commodore's flag. The crews of 'nine or ten boats have already signified their intention of making the trip. Three of the larger yachts and at least two of the largest launches will also con; tinue their cruise as far as the Greai Barrier Island, and will be away for a fortnight. Arrangements are in hand for a cruise to White Island some time after Easter.
