A band of willing workers had beautifully decorated the little church with the contribution? of fruit, flowers and vegetables from the district. A celebration of Holy Communion was preceded by an impressive address delivered by the Vicar, the Rev. A. V. Venables. Appropriate festive music wai rendered by the choir, - under the leadership of Mrs. Charter. The donations of fruit and vegetables are to be sent to Sister Hannah, for distribution in Auckland. A fairly largo number of men are proceeding to the coast, via Waimnuku, to effect repiirs to the cable station there. It is understood that a cement wall is to be erected to prevent the further encroachment of the sand around the buildin#. The main road, in front of the railway goods shed, is being heavily metalled, and when finished will be a boon to those who frequent it with heavy loads.
