APPEAL FOR ASSISTANCE. A public meeting in connection with the fir© at the Takapuna Orphanage is to be held at the Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday next, at 1.45 p.m., and terminating at 2.15 p.m. The Hon. E. W. Alison, M.L.C., will preside. Sir Edwin Mitchelson, M.L.C., the Rev. W. O. Monckton, Mr. A. M. Gould, Mayor of Takapuna, Mr. Robert McVeagh, and Chancellor Holbrook, manager of the orphanage, will give short addresses.
