STOCKS AND SHARES.
Investment stocks again had strong demand on the Auckland sharemarket yesterday. In Government securities, Inscribed Stock, 1938, changed hands at £97 10s, with ftixther sellers at that figure and buyers at £97 ss. Soldiers' Loan bonds had inquiry at £101. Inscribed Stock in this loan, 5$ per cent, had sellers at £101, and 5£ per cent, at £97 10s. In banks, New Zealands sold at 575, late sellers 57s 3d, buyers 56s 6d. Buyers of Australasias were offering £13 6s, sellers asking £13 12s. Commercials (ord.) were wanted at 345, New South WaJes at £37 ss, and Unions of Australia at £13 19s. In insurances, Nationals had sale at 755, with late buyers at 74s 3d and no more sellers. New Zealand's, at 28s 3d had buyers at 27s 9d. South British were looked for at 375, sellers 38s. In financial lines, River Plates changed hands at 21s 6d. In miscellaneous lines, Milne and Choyce debenture stock had salo at 23s 9d, and the ordinary share issue at 245. In mining, Waihis hnid sellers at 295, buyers 28s 9d. Grand Junctions at 8s 9d were wanted at 8s 7d. Moanataiaris were easier at 3s lOd, with buyers at 3s Bd. New Waiotahis had buyers at 6d, sellers 9id, Rising Suns (3s paid) were looked for at 4d, but sellers asked Is. The following sales took place:—New Zealand Inscribed Stock. 1938, £97 10s; Bank of New Zealand, 575; National Insurance, 755; New Zealand and River Plate, 21s 6d; Milne and Choyce (ord.), 245, (debenture stock) 23s 9d.
