MOTOR-CAR FATALITY.
INQUEST AT CAMBRIDGE. [>"? TELEGRAPH. CORRESPONDENT. ] CAMBRIDGE. Friday.' An inquest in connection with the death of Robert Edmeades, of Wadestown, Wellington, which occurred at a private hospital at Cambridge on Wednesday through injuries received from being thrown out of a motor-car down an Bft. bank, was held yesterday. Evidence was given by George Felix Braithwaite, who was the driver of the car, that on February 10 he was driving in Wharf Street. Deceased and his wife occupied the back seat. At a sharp bend in the road he had to pass a motorcyclist, swerving the car toward a fence to do so. Just afterwards a severe bump caused deceased and his wife to be thrown out of the car down a bank. The oar was going at the rate of only six miles an hour, nothing being wrong with the steering gear. Dr. Walter Stapley stated deceased) sustained a fracture of the last neck bone, causing pressure on the spinal column. A verdict was returned in accordance with the evidence, no blame being attachable to anyone.
