BACK TO PENNY POSTAGE.
AUSTRALIAN INQUIRY. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 9.5 p.m.) MELBOURNE. March 6. The Postmaster-General has begun an inquiry into the financial effects of cheaper postal rates in other countries. He states that if figures show that cheaper rates result in more letters being sent, so that the revenue is not decreased, he will recommend the Cabinet to reintroduce penny postage.
