TATUA CHEESE FACTORY.
INCREASING PRODUCTION.
GOOD ADVANCE PAYMENTS.
[BY TELEGRAPH. — COBBESPONDENT. ] HAMILTON. Tuesday. A prosperous season has-been experienced by the Tatua Co-operative Dairy Company. The company which has 60 suppliers, expects to manufacture 600 tons of cheese this season in its 10-vat factory at Tatuanui, or an increase of 150 tons compared with last season. A feature of the company'B make this season has beeu the high uniform grading obtained. With a view to further improving the quality of the output and preventing shrinkage which often takes place in the cheese before it leaves the curing rooms, 'the company has installed a freezing plant at the factory. Government instructors recommended the company to do this, ana have intimated that it is likely that all cheese companies will be compelled to instal freezing plants. Last year the Tatua Company made the best pay-out of any cheese factory in the Auckland Province that sent its produce overseas on open consignment, and this year tne indications are that it will again do well. The last progress payment was Is 4d per lb. butter-fat. A supplementary payment of a penny over the whole season's output is to be made in a few days, while a substantial bonus will be paid at the end of the season. Throughout the Ta't"anui district there is an abundance of feed. The turnips and hay crops have been particularly good. < "
