PIGEON RACING.

NORTHERN CLUB'S RACES. The Northern Club's fourth young bird race was flown .on Saturday in bad weather. The birds wore liberated by the stationmaster at Taumarunui in steady ruin, with j a strong westerly wind, which proved too hard for the majority, only four being able to homo on the day. A. Morton, of Grey Lynn, gained first honours with a black c cock, after flying for Bli. 28m. N. Porter was a good third with two birds, in Bh. 35m. Appended are the velocities in yards per minute:—A. The Auckland Racing Pigeon Club held the eecond race of its young bird programme on Saturday from To Awamutu, a distance of 80 miles.
