WHAKATANE MAYORALTY.
v CANDIDATE ANNOUNCED. (BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] WHAKATANE. Monday. A representative deputation of citizens waited upon Mr. D. 0. Chalmers on Saturday with a request, that he should allow himself to be nominated for the Whakatane Mayoralty. He has decided to accede to the request. The sitting Mayor, Mr. W. R. Boon, has intimated that he is not seeking re-election.
