BEES ATTACK HORSES.
ONE ANIMAL KILLED. [TOOK OTO OWN CORRESPONDENT.] SYDNEY, Feb. 24. It is not often that the sting of bee 3 proves fatal. The exceptional case has just occurred at Gatton in Queensland. Two fine buggy horses were tethered in the vicinity of some bee hives at Gatton on Monday morning, .. when a . slab wall which divided the hives and tho horses was knocked <<own, and one of .the hives was overturned. The bees promptly attacked the animals, and, i although the reins by which one of tho horses was tied was cat, thus allowing the animal to escape, some considerable time elapsed' before the other horse conld be. released. By that time it had received innumerable stings from tho' bees; It could not be got away from tho spot, and died within an hour. The other horse was bled, and. fortunately recovered.
