Mr. Crooke said that every local body should protest against the "stupid methods of the department in hampering busi- ■ ness." Mr. Herbert said the council's protest 1 would strengthen the general opposition to the new charges throughout New Zealand. ■ . Mr. D. G. Sullivan, M.P., said that, many people had great difficulty in getting telephones.
