Briskness 'on the waterfront depends mostly on the state of trade in the country, and with the improvement that has; taken place in this direction, • watersidera 1 are now faring better than they have teen ] doing for some time past. Of course, the export season has not yet closed, and this is for plenty of work being obtainable.' Mr. Glover, president of the Waterside , Workers' Federation, stated to-day that j " things are fairly bright," so far as emi ployment on the waterfronts of the Dominion at the present time is concerned. The National Disputes Committee was at present meeting in Wellington, considering one of two small disputes and minor interpretations of clauses of the award of the Arbitration Court. Interest attaches to the present meeting of the National Disputes Committee, as it is the first convened since the watersiders* award camo into force on November 30, ■ 1922. ■ . -
