SYDNEY'S UNEMPLOYED.

LESS DISTRESS REPORTED.

FEW CLAIMS FOR RELIEF.

A. and N.Z.

SYDNEY, Fob. 29.

As comment on the continued, cry of increasing unemployment, the annual report of the Benevolent Society states that in the spring of 1921 the number of families drawing the society's relief was 1200 weekly. In the spring of 1922 it had declined to 700, and at the end of the year had fallen to less than half. The report draws the conclusion that there is less unemployment to-day accompanied by extreme necessity than has been the case for some years past.
