The Prime Minister has been deluged with messages of condolence in connection with the death of the late Sir William Herries, including telegrams from the Governor-General, the Hon. A. T. Ngata, the Mayors of .' Te Aroha < and Morrinsville, and also ' from the Arawa tribe assembled at the (Native Appell;<|fr Court at Rotorua, regretting the loss qf one who was a firm friend of the native race, and who was beloved and esteemed by them.
