PROGRESS IN CONSTRUCTION. WAIHI-TAURANGA SECTION. A report -on the progress of construction of the East, Coast/railway; line/has been .received from the commissioner of the Auckland , Railways and Development League./ The ; report states that the line is hearing", completion at Athenree. Iron girder plates are . being sent, to Tauranga for. riveting and; are rapidly being returned as girders for the i bridges in the Hikurangi Gorge 'on v the Waini stream. The piers for the bridge at ; the Ohinemuri River are nearing completion. The piers at; the ( Waimata stream are ready to receive girders, but a scarcity of good metal for concrete work is giving trouble. The construction of the line between Anthenree / and Takawai is ■ being pushed forward./ -.", //,/':
