BOY SCOUT MOVEMENT.

PROPOSED RALLY IN MAY. ; A very pleasant dinner was given by Mr. R. C. Grigsby, district commissioner of boy scouts, to the scoutmasters and scoutmistresses of the Auckland cen- / tral district. The object of the gathering was to bring the officers together to discuss the future activities of the scout movement in the district. Musical Items and recitations were given, with short addresses by various ' scout officers. A few toasts were honoured. The most important item in the programme of work submitted is the rally which it is proposed to hold in the Domain on Saturday, May 5, at which it is tie-intention of the Governor-General, Lord Jellicoe, to inspect the scouts. In Melbourne last month a big rally, which lasted 10 days, held the interest of the public-from its first day to its last.
