PUBLICITY MISSION.

ADVERTISING NEW ZEALAND. TWO YEARS' TOUR ABROAD. [bt telegraph.—press ASSOCIATION.] INVERCARGILL. Tuesday. A publicity mission, which is to tour the United States, Canada, and Great Britain, leaves for San Francisco in September. Mr. J. E. Winsloe, secretary of the Southland League, has been appointed organiser. It is to be carried out under the auspices of the White Star Tourist Service Association, and a comprehensive lecturing tour of two years . has. been mapped out. ■•■,...- . . Lectures will be given first at San Francisco »nd pther CalifPrnian cities in November, the first portion of .the American visit occupying six . months. Britain will next be visited, and, as the tour. coincides with the Empire Exhibiton, it is hoped that valuable publicity work will be done. The mission then proceeds to Canada and Florida, and later the northern cities, such as St. Paul and St. Louis, will be visited. The next stage in the itinerary will be Toronto, the mission anally working west to Vancouver. The tour ends at Portland, Oregon. The following lectures concerning New Zealand will be given:—(1) Primary and secondary industries; (2) sport; (3) thermal region; (4) alpine region; (5) Southern scenic resorts; (6) Cook Islands and Samoa. In addition, 24,000 ft. of cinema film will be used to illustrate the lectures. The object of the visit is to advertise the primary and secondary industries, and to induce tourists to visit the Dominion.
