LAND AT PUTARURU.
EVIDENCE OF FERTILITY.* fBY TELEGRAPH.— REPORTER.] HAMILTON. Wednesday. The possibilities of Putaruru land were demonstrated by exhibits at the Power Board function at Arapuni yesterday. These included splendid roots, a stalk of maize 10ft. high, and splendidly-grown vegetables, bunches of lucerne, and rye- ' grass. The lucerne was sown last year as an experiment and rooted most readily. By frequent harrowihgs the paddock was kept clear of weeds and two good cuts have been made this season.
