DROWNED IN THE WANGANUI
CAB DRIVER ON WATERSIDE. [BY TELEGRAPH. — ASSOCIATION.] WANGANUJ. Monday. A married man named Charles Howard, while working in a truck unloading poles from the Ihumata, at Castlecliff Wharf this afternoon, fell into the river and was drowned. He leaves a widow and five children, the youngest . only a few days old. Howard and two other men were the last horse cab drivers in Wanganui. They went out of business a few weeks ago and Howard took up waterside work.
