POISON MICROBE LOCATED.
INFECTION FOUND IN MILK.' ORIGIN NOT YET TRACED. [BY TELEGRAPH.PRESS association.] CHEISTCHURCH. Monday.' The condition! of the patients in hospital as a result of the New Brighton poisoning tragedy is improving steadily. The analysis of samples of food eaten by Mr. and Mrs. Cook and famiy, with fatal results for three of the children, is proceeding. ' Dr. Pearson, who has been conducting the examination,' stated to-day that the poison microbe had been recovered from the blanc-mange and - also from a jug of ■ milk in the house. With respect to the infection of the milk', which was in an open jug, Dr. Pearson explained that the recovery of the microbe did not necessarily mean that the milk was infected when it was delivered to the house, or that the animal from which it came was infected. The infection may have developed in the house.
