CATTLE TICK MENACE.
DIPS NOT BEING USED.
[by telegraph.—-own correspondent.] OPOTIKI, Saturday.
The Opotiki County Council at its last meeting discussed the cattle tick menace and the compulsory dipping of cattle. It was stated that the council had erected a dip but that no cattle had come to hand to be dipped. .
Mr. Parkinson stated that the regulations had been relaxed to such an extent that dipping was not now necessary. The boundaries , extended as far away as the Motu River.
I.Tie council decided to "writ© to the district stock inspector asking for a statement of the present position. , Reference was made to the fine spraying plant owned by Mr. Bridge, of Tirohanga, enabling him to spray over 190 cows in three hours. To was suggested; that the council should provide a similar outfit.
