FINANCIAL CLAUSES.

NEGOTIATIONS NOT ENDED. ISMET PASHA'S EXPLANATION. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 12.30 a.m.) LONDON. Feb. 4. The Morning Post's correspondent at Lausanne says that the French and Italians are more annoyed than the British fay the Turks' obstinacy in connection with finances and capitulations, which touch them more than Britain. The difference was illustrated by the final words at the conference. Lord Curzon told Ismet Pasha that the Turkish intractibility was incredible. M. BomparcL declared that it was a crime to talk of separate, treaties. . ■ Ismet Pasha informed Turkish journaliate that he did not refuse to sign the treaty owing to tho clauses relating to capitulations, but because the financial section of the treaty meant the re-establish-ment of economic capitulations and the enslavement of Turkey. He claimed that he was not aware that the conference was over and declared that he expected a further communication from the Allies. Ismet Pasha concluded: /' My conscience is clear." ~- <,■'■. . .
