A little girl, Nellie May Kitchen, about three years old, was playing near a well at her mother's home in Kaihu on Sunday evening when she fell in. A Maori child gave the alarm and the mother got the child, out, but life was extinct.

At the inquest 1 a ; verdict of found drowned was returned. »
