THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL.
'Rear-Admiral Gilly, of the French, cruiser Jules Michelet, paid an : official call on the Governor-General s Lord. Jeliscoe, at ,10 o'clock yesterday morning. His Excellency returned the call at 11 a.m. Her Excellency attended the wedding of Lieutenant L. R. Romer, R.N., and , Miss Freda Hrilaby at St. Aidan's Ohi-"ch, Rcmuera, yesterday. To-day a party of French officers -will be ./Entertained at dinner at Government. Hcitiiiie.- A small dance wiil follow. Tomorrow His Excellency wi'l be the guest, of the French Consul, M. E. T. de. Btjregard, at a luncheon at the Grand Hotel. In the evening there .will be a.s dance on board H.M.S. Chatham, at which Thei-? Excellencies and staff, and also officers of ■the French cruiser will be present.
