PROPOSAL IN QUEENSLAND. Fey TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] HAMILTON, Thursday. Advice has been received from Brisbane by the Waikato executive of the Farmers' Union stating tha& there is a proposition of a private nature to establish a primary producers' bank ■ of Australia for the purpose, among other things, of making advances to farmers". The object of the . promoters of this bank is to secure more considerate treatment to rural producers, more particularly in the direction of advances, than the present banking . institutions are willing to afford.
\ One provision is that interest shall be paid quarterly in lieu of annually whe?e deposits are concerned.
