SHARKS NUMEROUS.

CATCHES IN AUSTRALIA.

Sharks have been very numerous in Australian waters this summer. Visitors to Sydney one day recently were given an idea of the .size of sharks in the harbour. Hanging ■ over the stern of the steamer Fiona, which was moored in Athol Bight, wore two huge sharks with their noses just touching the water. One was 12ft. long. Schools of porpoises extended almost across the width of the harbour at Neilsen Park and Clifton Gardens tho same day, and only a few people dared to go into the water. In four weeks 92 sharks were caught in Melbourne Barbour by a party of four men.
