The United States Lawn Tennis Association has .published its ranking list of American players, which does not include Australians, being confined to residents of the United States. The first ten singles players are W. T. Tilden, William Johnston, . Richards, Williams, Wallace, Ford-Johnson, Robert Kinsey, Shimidzu (a Japanese resident in New York), Howard Kinsey, Hunter, and Washburn. The three leading doubles players are Tilden 1 and Richards, the Kinsey brothers, and Washburn and, Williams. The women's list is headed by Mrs. Mallory. TILDEN'S OPERATION. FORM- NOT AFFECTED. Tilden played his"- first public match since his *bperation, trouncing Francis Hunter, holder of the indoor tennis championship, 3—6„ 7—5, ;6 — Tilden's performance indicated that the loss of part of his stroke ringer will have little effect on his form. He was dazzlingly accurate in his placements, and his service seemed to be as good as ever.
