PARIS CRIME IN 1922.
192 MURDERS: 720 SUICIDES. JEALOUSY AND ILLICIT LOVE A. and N.Z. 1 PARIS, Jan. 5. According to police statistics, there were 192 murders in Paris in 1922, compared with 242 in the previous year and 262 in 1920.. The majority of the murders were due to jealousy or illicit love. The knife was less used for murder than formerly, and for most cages of tabbing negroes from Senegal, Algeria, and Morocco were responsible. There were 720 suicides in Paris in 1922, mostly of young people disappointed in life through lack of money.
