' At a sitting of the Wairoa Court yes- & terday two youths appeared on remanc u from Gisborne to answer a series o! e charges of theft. The youths wert Frederick George Lester and Walter Best! n Hill, who were jointly , charged that 01 I December . 16, 1922. at Napier, they stoli X a tent valued at £2, the property of Eric Caro; that on December 18, at Wairoa^ they did break and enter the*; premises oi the Wairoa Butter and siea. therefrom 881b. of butter, a pair of gam boots, an. oilskin, and two suits of over alls, valued at £10 5s Sd, the property oi the Wairoa Butter Factory; that on tfat same day they stole one horse, valued ai £10, the property of Matthew Edwards and two gig lamps and a cushion, valuec 2 . at £2, the property of Thomas Aldridge. d The accused pleaded guilty, and wer< d committed for - sentence■'! to the Supreme c . Court at Wellington. Tbey also pieade* ir guilty to the theft, on December 19, o 1 a private mail bag, the property of th< •New Zealand Government, and were com mitted on this charge also. i Lester and Hill were further chargec ■* that on December 14, at Ohau, they stol< a gig, valued at £15, and one horse, th> property of Leonard Newdick.
