The boxing carnival under thn auspices of the Manawatu Association whs opened to-night, before a moderate attendance. The chief results were Woodward (Hawke's Bay) outpointed o'K«efe (I almerstor North) in a very ev ' en weight bout of six rounds; in th<i featherweight class, Howe (Wellington) defeated Potbury (Wellington). and Rusterholtz (Wellington) cut pointed Karton (Wanganui). Ini the heavy-weight section, ( h ston North) won every one ot uiiee rounds with Young (Wanganui).
