RAND REVOLT TRIALS.
ELEVEN MEN REPRIEVED. INSTRUMENTS OF OTHERS. A. and N.Z. CAPETOWN, Pec. '25. Eleven men who were condemned to death in connection with the murders of Brakpan mine officials during the revolt last March have been reprieved. The decision is generally applauded. In a petition to the Governor-General the condemned men said:—" We are not murderers as we understand the word. We did want to keep as much as possible of the good thing!! of life for our families, but as hunger pressed we fell readily into the organisation of others who left us to take the risk and bear th« 9 blame. The men who incited us by speech did so with impunity."
