FIRES IN BLUE MOUNTAINS. A. and N.Z. SYDNEY. Dec- 25. Bush fires are reported from the Blue Mountains. Many holiday-makers were compelled to secure their belongings and go elsewhere for safety. A hundred and three degrees were registered on Sunday, the hottest day for 18 years for December. Holidaymakers endured a temperature which exceeded GOdeg. A scorching westerly wind and haze from many bush fires in the outer suburbs added to the discomfort. In Melbourne the weather was showery »nd cocl.
