PLUNKET SHIELD MATCH.

AUCKLAND V. WELLINGTON.

DEPARTURE OF AUCKLAND TEAM. The first Plunket Shield match of the season will be played between Auckland (holders) and Wellington, commencing tomorrow and extending until Tuesday, on the Basin Reserve. Auckland will be represented by a strong side, including R. W. Rowntree, who has recovered from an injury received in tho recent match against the M.C.C. team Twelve players. accompanied by the joint managers, Messrs. Flynn and Watts, left for Wellington by the Main Trunk last evening. At the conclusion of the match against Wellington the Auckland team will be strengthened by several other players for the Southern tour, which, commences with a match. againßt Canterbury on December 30, extending over January 1 and 2. The match against Otago will be played at Carisbrook on January 5, 6, and 8. The Auckland team will return to resume ciub championship matches on January 13.

SUBURBAN CRICKET ASSOCIATION.

MATCHES SUSPENDED.

The Suburban Association cup competi-" tions have been suspended until January 6, 1923. As is the custom, the association ia again this year sending teamsi to the country to play with affiliated associations. The first fixture will be against Whanearei on Christmas Day and Boxing Day, and on Wednesday and Thursday. December 27 arid 28, against Northern Wairoa, at Dargaville. The team for Whangarei will leave Auckland to-night by the S.S. Manaia, which sails at 10 p.m. The following players have been chosen to make the trip:—R. lonegan. J. Armstrong, Richardson, F. Guest Burton, llickie Davies, Cattrell, Adams, Humphrey, Wrathall, Stallworthy, Hooker. Brotherhood Cricket Club will play a match with Gas Works Cricket Club on the Domain on Saturday, st&rting at 2 p.m.
