BOWLING AT WELLINGTON. CLOSELY-.CONTESTED MATCH [BI TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELUNGTON, Wednosday. The honours in the first day's play rest with the Queensland bowlers, who beat a Wellington team by 113 to 95. In the afternoon they met selected teams from clubs in the Wellington centre. After keenly-contested games, in which the issue was in doubt until, the last four bowls were sent down, the Queenslanders gained a victory by two points, the score being 96-94. The president of the Wellington Centre, Mr. F. Meadowcroft, congratulated tnem on their win after being pitted against Wellington's best. The president of the Queensland Association replied that they would take their victory modestly, although before they left, they were told they would not win a game in New Zealand.
