ACCIDENT BENEFIT SOCIETY.
KAURI TIMBER CO.'S EMPLOYEES.
A very satisfactory financial position was revealed at the annual mooting of the Kauri Timber Company Accident Benefit Society yesterday. Receipts during the year totalled £258 4s Bd, of which £234 Os 6d represented members' contributions. Expenditure totalled £90 7s 3d, of which £81 was paid on accident account. There ■were 24 accidents during the year, only four of which wore connected with machinery. It was decided to pay a rebate to members of 14s 9d each, accounting for £128 5s 3d, and carry forward £21 to r.ext year. The number of fully paid-up members is 160, and the cost of"insurance is 3£d a week. The thanks of the executive were expressed to the management of the company for the unstinted supply to the society of all first-aid appliances and for help rendered in accident cases by members of the staff. Officers were elected as follows: — Presidont, Mr. A. W. Austen; secretary, Mr. R. S Smyth; treasurer, Mr. H. Baffin; committee, Messrs. J. Cole, J. Shiress, F. Davies, S. Williams, W. Patterson; auditors, Messrs. G. Griffith and B. Watson.
