HIGHER PRICES FOR BEEF.
DEMAND AT WESTFIELD.
Prices for beef at tho Westfield fat stocK sales yesterday were considerably firmer in all classes. There was a keen demand and prices rose by about 10s per head. Extra choice ox realised £1 6s per 1001b., other grades bringing from £1 to £1 ss. Cow and heifer beef brought from 14s to £1 3s per 1001b. There was a good demand for sheep and all classes met with a further advance in values. Wethers realised from £1 4s to £1 165,"" ewes £1 Is to £1 10s. There wa3 a record entry of lambs, which sold well at from 15s to £1 13s 9d. Pig prices wero easier. Choppers and bacon pigs brought from £2 to £3 10s.
