ENGLAND AT WANGANUI. BATSMEN HIT OUT FREELY. CALTHORPE'S FINE CENTURY [bt telegraph.—press association.] WANGANUI, Wednescay. The match between England and the Minor Associations concluded to-day in fine weather, tho visitors winning by ten wickets.

Tho Englishmen carried their first innings' scoro to 296. Calthorpe, who was 51 not out on the previous day, compiled 117, an innings marked by good timing and hard driving. Wilkinson and Brand 6haped the best of the rest. Tae visitors forced the pace to make their display a sporting one, and all hit out at the bowling. The home bowling was lacking in quality, as Hillard was indisposed and had withdrawn from the game.

In their second effort, the Minor Associations' team fared better, Lambert again taking the honours with a sterling display. The Englishmen made light of the task set them to win, Lowry and Hill-Wood quickly knocking up tho necessary- 34 runs. Scores: —
