♦ — There was again a good demand for investment stocks on the Auckland sharemarket yesterday. In Government stocks , business was done in War Loans, 1938, at £96 10s, late buyers offering £96 ss, sellers £96 15s. Soldiers' Loan bonds had demand at £99 15s, sellers quoting £100. Inscribed stock, 1927, quoted at £96 10s, had buyers at £95 17s 6d. There was inquiry for inscribed stock, 1938, at £96 7s 6d, no sellers responding. In banks there was a sale of Nationals at £6 10s, lato sellers quoting £6 12s. New Zealands had buyers at 555, sellers 565. ; There was inquiry for New South Waiea at £35 ss, sellers £35 10s. In insurances j New Zealands, wanted at 28s 3d. were, quoted at 28s 6d. Offers of 35s 9d for, South British met with no response from ; sellers. In gas business was done in ! Aucklands at 24s 6d, late buyers offering tho same figure, sellers 24s lOd. In miscellaneous stocks there was a sale of Milne and Choyce debentureis at 23s 6d, lato buyers offering 23s 3d, sellers 23s 6d. Thero were transactions in Wilsons Cement at 225, further buyers offering 21s lOd, late sellers 22s 3d. In mining Moanataiaris sold at 3s 3d and 3s 2d, the closing quotations being buyers 3s 2d, sellers 3s 3d. Waihis, inquired for at 33s 9d, wero quoted at 345. Business was done in Waihi Grand Junctions a,t 103 4d, lato buyers offering 10s 3d, sellers 10s 4d. The following sales took place:—New Zealand War Loan. 1938, £96 10s: National Bank, £6 10s ; Auckland Gas, 24s 6d ; Milne and Choyce debenture stock, 23s 6d; Wilsons Cement, 225; Moanataiari, 3s 3d, 3s 2d; Waihi Grand Junction, 10s 4d.
